Lean Manufacturing techniques have made it possible for companies to reduce their operating inventories while also reducing the time from receiving an order to shipping the product. This training module is focused towards performing a Kaizen Event to achieve these improvements for a high value product line or just key operations within the value stream for a product line. Kick-off meetings are conducted for the key management and then the operations personnel to introduce the concept of waste (Muda) and Process Cycle Efficiency. The tools to identify, measure and improve the operations are introduced such as Takt time, Pull Systems, Visual Controls, Workcell Layout and 5S Housekeeping.
